Yes, we strongly advise against placing this lamp on a delicate or glass-topped table. At 26.4 Lbs, the Janna is an exceptionally heavy and substantial piece because both the base and the large 16-inch shade are crafted from thick, solid Ceramic. It is designed to be a durable, architectural statement piece, so we highly recommend placing it on a sturdy wooden credenza, a solid stone end table, or a heavy console that can safely support its weight.

If you use traditional incandescent bulbs, 30 total watts will only provide a soft, moody glow. However, for bright reading light, you should install two LED E26 Medium Base bulbs. A 10W to 15W LED produces the brightness equivalent of a 75W to 100W traditional bulb. Furthermore, because the shade is made of solid, opaque Ceramic, light doesn't pass through the sides; instead, the dual sockets cast a bright, highly focused pool of downward light directly onto your book or tabletop, making it a perfect reading lamp.

The Janna lamp is wired to be fully dimmable, but the included 96-inch cord only features a standard in-line On/Off switch. To utilize its dimming capabilities, you will need to install dimmable E26 bulbs and plug the lamp's cord into a separate, compatible plug-in dimmer switch (often called a tabletop dimmer module) or a dimmable smart plug. This allows you to easily transition the fixture from a bright task light to a warm evening glow.
