Because it only drops 12 inches from the ceiling, it provides the massive visual impact of a grand chandelier without obstructing sightlines or head clearance. How bright is this fixture, and do I need to buy bulbs?

No bulbs are needed! The Imogen features a built-in, integrated LED system that produces a very bright 2900 Lumens (roughly equivalent to 200 watts of traditional incandescent light). Because it is so bright, it easily illuminates a large room. The 2700K color temperature ensures the light remains warm and inviting, while the Opal Cloud Glass beautifully diffuses the LEDs to prevent harsh glare.

Does a 44-pound flush mount require special ceiling support?

Yes, careful installation is highly recommended. At 44 Lbs, this fixture is approaching the absolute maximum weight limit of a standard ceiling electrical junction box (which is typically rated for 50 lbs). Because of the heavy Brass and Glass construction, we strongly advise having your electrician verify that your junction box is securely braced directly to a ceiling joist before installing.
