What's the best bulb wattage for reading without the light being too harsh or too dim?

For comfortable reading, we recommend an 8W to 10W LED A15 bulb (which produces the equivalent light of a 40W to 60W traditional incandescent bulb). The lamp's wide 15-inch linen shade naturally diffuses this output, softening harsh shadows while keeping the page well-lit.

Does the pull-chain switch support dimmable bulbs, or is it only On/Off?

The integrated pull-chain is a mechanical On/Off switch. While the lamp itself is listed as "Dimmable," this functionality requires the use of a dimmable smart bulb controlled via an app or a separate plug-in tabletop dimmer (not included). The internal socket is rated for up to 60W, giving you the flexibility to use high-output LED bulbs if you need more than just accent lighting.

How stable is the lamp when using the pull-chain mechanism?
