Is this pendant compatible with sloped or vaulted ceilings?

Yes, this fixture includes a swivel adapter at the canopy designed specifically for sloped or vaulted ceilings. We recommend using the provided rods (two 6-inch and two 12-inch) to adjust the drop so the 13-inch shade hangs level at your desired height.

How low can I hang this pendant over a small bistro table or kitchen island?

We recommend hanging the bottom of the 13-inch shade approximately 30 to 36 inches above your surface. With a minimum hanging height of 15.5 inches and a maximum of 53.5 inches, this pendant is highly flexible for standard 8-foot ceilings as well as higher 10-foot ceilings.

Does the matte black shade focus the light strictly downward, or is there some ambient spill?

The solid metal matte black shade is opaque, directing the majority of the light downward for focused task lighting. However, because the shade is 13 inches wide and only 7.5 inches high, it provides a generous spread of light. We recommend using a G25 globe bulb to ensure the light is well-distributed within the aged brass interior for a warm, reflective glow.
